Hi, this map was originally made in 1971 but was updated in 1993.

I lived in Phnom Penh from 1993 to 1998. I was just a child then and have very happy memories of my time there. I have been trying very unsuccessfully to find a map of Phnom Penh from around then, just so I can reminisce, look at my old haunts, and show my kids where I used to live. Would you know where I can find one? Thanks very much.

Have you read the book, perchance? I think you might find it useful.

Yes I loved the night life in Siem Reap. I know I would fit in there. Probably the beach too. Battambang is where the main family living, and where I would be living and hopefully setting up a business of some kind. How well do you know the language? Would you recomend me taking a class? I know enough to get by, but not enough to have a conversation. I could work remotely at my current company, but I am really wanting to get away from it all here. I know its crazy to quit a good career, but I feel like in the states I’m just living to work, not working to live. Does it feel the same way there? Don’t have kids yet, so I’d like to do something worth while before I’m stuck here.

Hi Chaz, Battambang is pretty quiet, so it just depends on your personal taste. Siem Reap is a bit more lively and not too far away. Why don’t you try it for a few months and see how you like it? You might be able to work remotely for the company you already work for…
