In reply to Barb. Hi Barb, Giving blood is the gift of life. I just gave some recently here in Palm Springs, CA. Wish I could go over there. One day I will. One thing I am passionate about is.....we have to rid the landscape there of all of those terrible landmines left over from all the conflicts of the past. So many people in Cambodia have been hurt by these indiscriminate horrid devices. Hey, thanks for the interesting info. Cheers.

Hi Mark, the National Blood Transfusion Centre is on the corner of Norodom Bvd and Street 114 (also known as bank street, it goes on to become the road to the airport.) They are open from 8am til 5pm seven days per week although they have staff available 24 hours per day for emergencies. If you are available tomorrow to donate could you please email me your contact details? There is a sick little boy in the hospital right now that needs a transfusion. barb@voice.org.au Thanks!

Great article. Indeed, i have learned to love those big ice cubes in my beer. In fact, i’ll get darn right ornery if I don’t get it.

I was indeed considering the program for the English Language training before i began hearing similar stories about the uselessness of the certification.

Where to donate blood? Thanks for the reminder. I’ve only done it once while in Cambodia. I’ll be happy to donate for someone if you let me know when i’m needed.

I have tried to encourage donating blood on tripadvisor but they won’t publish it – say I’m associated with the business???? Maybe they think I’m working for Dracula, Inc. It’s true, donating blood in Cambodia is safe and such a wonderful gift.
