Shaun, so glad to hear! My boyfriend broke his lower spine in Cambodia two years ago and spent two days in a horrible hospital with barely any medical care, like yourself. It was such an awful experience. He eventually got moved to a Thai hospital and had surgery. Luckily he’s not in a wheelchair, but he has some permanent nerve that might not have occurred if he was taken better care of.

I am Shaun featured in this post and I can confirm that I made a an amazing recovery thanks to the expert medical care which I received in Sukhumvit Hospital, Bangkok. I owe my life to my amazing Surgeon and his expert medical team and all of the fantastic nurses.

Robert, World Nomads doesn’t cover emergencies that stem from a pre-exisiting medical condition. If he’s living in Cambodia, perhaps he should look into expat insurance.

Hi Robert, they are specially outfitted helicopters made for transporting patients, and the airlift includes nurses onboard to tend to the patient. You can research it directly by contacting any of the major hospitals in Bangkok for more information. You can also research the costs of World Nomads by contacting them directly.
