It is a long long time since I was in Banlung but I have fond memories of being taken around the surrounding countryside. I also enjoyed chilling out in the town. For me somewhere like Banlung would appeal far more than Kratie and Kampot (both of which I like) is the relative absence of the tourist and the ease of making friends with the locals
