I lived out there for 12 years and only went to Sambour for the first time last December. Pre-Covid, yay! Absolutely loved it. There was virtually no-one there and the forest was so quiet and still. We hired a guide from the trainee program and the kid was great – really knowledgeable. My wife Yim spent a lot of time telling him about the civil war. I’d definitely go again. It reminded me of going to Angkor in 2001 – basically you’ve got the place to yourself.
